    Inside a 5 Axis CNC Waterjet Machine

    A 5-axis waterjet integrates the cutting head, intensifier, CNC control, cooling and abrasive supply for synchronized bevel and contour cutting.

    5 axis CNC waterjet machine system anatomy

    The waterproof aluminum-alloy head provides 0-60 degree angled cutting for stone, ceramic, glass and metal. Coordinated motion supports curves, bevels, chamfers and taper compensation, while laser height measurement and probe detection establish the cutting position.

    The intensifier delivers a stable jet up to 420 MPa. International-brand high-pressure components support long-term operation, while a variable oil pump matches flow and pressure to the cutting load and soft start limits start-up current.

    The control cabinet coordinates motion, high pressure and abrasive delivery. Customized NcStudio supports DXF and other common formats, automatic programming and precise manual control on an industrial host designed for vibration, dust and electromagnetic interference.

    EtherCAT synchronizes the cutting axes. Absolute servo motors retain position after power loss, allowing work to resume without repeated zero return.

    Air-, water- and oil-cooled systems suit different climates and duty cycles. The touchscreen monitors pressure, temperature, current, voltage and vibration for early warning and adjustment.

    A cast-iron beam and oil-immersed enclosed guides provide stable travel in wet cutting conditions. An automatic barrel supplies abrasive across the working range.

    High-visibility guards contain debris and splash. Camera positioning aligns standard patterns, a laser probe locates irregular workpieces, and an optional 90-degree hydraulic tilting table assists large-slab loading.
